Welcome to Ile Orunmila Yemoja Omi Imunilarada, the Temple of Orunmila and Yemoja's Healing Waters.

Alafia (peace) and welcome to our temple's online home. For those who are familiar with orisha traditions, our temple house is an Ifa focused temple in the Lukumi Yoruba tradition, located in the U.S. Virgin Islands, in which Yemoja is the crowning orisha of our chief priest. Ifa is central to our practice, and we are a house that honors Orunmila as a result. Our lineage, La Rama Pimienta, is descended from the Lukumi, or creolized Yoruba people who have maintained and practiced the Yoruba religion for generations in Cuba, originally, and now elsewhere. We use the Yoruba names for the Orisha and practice with an African aesthetic wherever possible, within the protocols and traditions of the Lukumi system. At IOYOI, we practice the Lukumi Yoruba religion based on ethics, respect and deference to our spiritual legacy.

For those who are less familiar with orisha traditions, we invite you to investigate, ask questions, and learn at your own pace, using this website as a resource to assist you in your quest to understand Yoruba Lukumi beliefs. Everyone who demonstrates true respect for God, themselves, the earth, humanity,  the Orisha, the African origins of Ifa, and who is willing to develop iwa pele (gentle character) and iwa rere (good character)  through introspection and spiritual guidance is welcome here, regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, or the like.
